Need a Sandown Library Card?

Are you trying to access our online resources and don't have a library card?

Please complete this online application and we will email you with your library card number.

Library Card Information

Library cards are issued free of charge to anyone who lives in Sandown.  Proof of residency must be presented. Parental permission is required under 14 years of age. Non-residents cards may be purchased for $65/year. Please notify the library if your card is lost or stolen. There is a $5.00 fee for replacement cards.

You do not need a Library card to come to the Library and access many of our services, such as use a computer, make copies, send a fax, ask questions, or browse.

BUT, if you want to access all our services, you will need a Library card.  What can I do with my Library Card?

YOU CAN BORROW

Books, Audio Books, Magazines, Large Print Books, DVDs & Blu-Ray, Music CDs, Museum Passes, Cake Pans, and Kindles. All materials circulate for three weeks except DVDs & Blu-Rays which are one week, and magazines circulate for two weeks.

OVERDUE MATERIALS

All borrowing is free if materials are returned on time. Most materials may be renewed twice, either in person or by telephone or once online. The Sandown Public Library does not have fines for overdue materials. We just want our materials returned!

Patrons who do not return materials that are overdue and have been contacted, may be charged for the outstanding materials at the current replacement cost. Patrons with charges of $15.00 or more will have privileges suspended until payment has been made. Patrons may also be charged for materials that are returned damaged.

ACCESSING THE LIBRARY ONLINE

Our Library Catalog may be searched from home, school or office. From the catalog you can search for materials. Have your Library card ready and you may place holds, renew materials, and check the status of your account. Sandown Public Library is now a member of the Southern New Hampshire Library Cooperative (SNHLC).  This Cooperative venture allows our users to directly access materials in Sandown, Plaistow and Atkinson libraries through our Library Catalog.

The Library also offers a number of excellent online databases. Ebscohost is offered through the NHewLINK project from the New Hampshire State Library. All other databases and services are purchased with library funds.  These Reference Databases provide information in the areas of general research, business, genealogy, literature and health.  You will need a valid Sandown Public Library card number to access these services.
